Judges
Lane Bradford and Don Fluker were the judges for February's Show and Tell

Mentor Mania!: It was almost a mini-retreat with all the lathes humming at the February meeting!

Greg Gonsalves working with Josh Boles of N Deer Park HS

Luna Ford checking Cody Thompson's bowl

Wayne Stanfield tutoring an unidentified young lady

Nathan Vega (right) watches Josh turn a spindle

Luna and Nathan, again

While Greg, Wayne and Luna were working with interested teen age turners, other mentors were busy demonstrating, also.

Brian Laing demonstrated how to turn finials...

...to the great interest of Ben Ball

We imagine Ben was thinking at this point "So THAT'S how it done!"

Marty Kaminsky demonstrated the finer points of platter making

By Reed demonstrated how to hollow with a spindle gouge (a technique only for the very brave)

Larry Zarra demonstrated how to make miniatures

And Bill Berry took his group of on-lookers though the entire process of how to make a natural edge vessel.

Checking the wall thickness...

...And then finishing the inside.

Faces in the Crowd (and other pictures)

Our host for February's meeting was David Berry, Industrial Arts instructor at North Deer Park High School (and one heck of a fine woodturner, to boot!)

The display tables were full

The North Deer Park High School shop is an excellent facility to hold meetings and we appreciate the Deer Park ISD's willingness to let us use it

Robert Frost examines the Show and Tell offerings

The real reason Show and Tell items are carefully measured and recorded is Robert's attentiveness to detail.  Thanks, Robert!
